I started reading the HP books when I was in college (about 7 or 8 years ago probably) and loved them. I just watched the first movie with my son who was probably a bit too young to really appreciate it, but it was still fun to relive the plot through his eyes.

I have a family member with a neurological condition, and I totally hear what you're saying - some days I want to read all I can, and other days I just don't want to hear anything related! You sound like you're a wonderful mom to your kids! I've only read Harry Potter #1 and wasn't thrilled - do they get better?

I resisted the Harry Potter series for a long time too (until a few months ago). But like you, once I started, I got hooked. My 16-yr-old started and finished them all last year, so she's anxiously waiting me to finish book 7 so we can talk about how it ends. :-)

I think you're wise to read a lot about RAD, but to set it aside and read "fun" things periodically too. It's easy to get overwhelmed otherwise.

Thanks for visiting my blog! We watched Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Pt 2 last night. AT my daughter's request! Since she is the Only Child, she usually dictates...er I mean directs our Movie viewing, much to my hubs dismay- she also holds the remote when she does!
