I like hamburgers. It's as simple as that. But, sometimes, I find myself looking for a cheaper, healthier alternative. My family has tried several different versions of a burgers made with beans. This one is definitely our favorite. And, by the way, it's both vegetarian and vegan. Cool, huh? If you like this recipe, check out some of our other favorites by following the Recipe link. Enjoy!

That sound yummy!!!! I'll have to try it!
ReplyDeleteI love black bean burgers. For going out, Chili's makes the best. But at home, we make ones similar to the recipe you've included.
ReplyDeleteTo make it even healthier we add mashed steamed carrots, chopped peppers, corn and salsa. If the salsa makes the mixture too wet, you just add more flour or bread crumbs to balance it out. So yummy!
Thanks for posting this! I think I'll try these. I've ordered them in restaurants, but never had a good recipe to try them at home. I love black bean burgers!
ReplyDeleteMmm...LOVE black bean burgers (I think more than beef and I'm not even a vegetarian!) I totally agree with Carey-Life...Chili's makes the best! But too expensive to eat out so...THANKS for this recipe! New to your cute and friendly blog! I am following now...oh and your blog was recommended at POM's Connect MEme Monday!

I have yet to make burgers like this even though i love them. I've got your recipe bookmarked.
ReplyDeleteMy last attempt at bean burgers didn't go too well, but yours sounds yummy. I'll have to try it!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could get this past my husband, but I for one could seriously make a dent in these! Sounds great! :-)
ReplyDeleteMmmm! These sound really good! Thanks for sharing with TATT.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has been trying recipes for black bean burgers, she just loves black bean soup. The burgers always fall apart. I don't think they included flour which I can see acting as a binding agent. I am printing out the recipe for her to try and will report back on our success. Today for Tuesdays at the Table, I am doing edible flowers and dirt, okay it tastes better than it sounds. Hope that you check it out.
ReplyDeleteI may try this and see if my teens like them if they do guess what will be on the menu
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to eat more legumes, this is a good way to do it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this! I'm always looking for a good veggie burger recipe...have yet to find it...I'll definitely be trying this one!
ReplyDeleteThese look meaty and, I bet they taste good.
ReplyDeleteWin Rachael Ray bake ware at my blog.
Thanks!
