Not What We Bargained For

This is where we stayed when we traveled to Guatemala to bring Big Brother home. What a great hotel! When we began planning our trip to Ethiopia to pick up Little Sister, we expected that we would find a place equally as wonderful. Unfortunately, we have run into some snags. What snags? We'll get into them a little more when we get back to the states! For now, I am hopping on a plane to rescue my family on Friday.

  7. You might want to look into buying her a cellphone. I'm going to do that for my wife when I leave next Thursday. We have reservations at the Yeka guest house as well. Was it clean? Just wondering what Heather and I should do now for a place to stay.

  9. You will all notice that I deleted a comment above from "Anonymous." Every so often, this particular "Anonymous" pops up on the blog and leaves a nasty comment. Writing as Anonymous because you don't have an account to log in with is one thing. It's fine. It's why we allow anonymous comments on the blog - just because someone has not felt like getting themselves a screen name certainly does not mean that we don't want to hear what they have to say. For instance, there is a more recent comment written by an Anonymous from whom we are particularly happy to hear. I will answer his question below. However, to the "Anonymous" who thinks he is so tough because he can insult someone without ever putting his name out there for the world to see - if you have a problem with something you read, by all means, say so. I'm sure that we can all benefit from your obvious wisdom. But, in the future, do it respectfully or you will continue to be deleted. Oh, and post your name with your comments, "Anonymous." I wouldn't want everyone to think that you are afraid of standing behind what you write.

Anonymous2: To answer your question - Yes. I believe it is. My guess is that Heather will have a better handle on things than my wife who has 3 kids with her and certainly not the same kind of support in-country as Heather does. I will ask my wife for sure tomorrow and let you know if she says that you should run for the hills. But, at the moment, we have no plans to change where we are staying - she just needs another body there to help out right now.
