What Advice Can You Give Me?

Well, it is Aloha Friday time! In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that people take it easy and look forward to the weekend (sound familiar?). So, we take it easy on Friday blog posts by sticking to just one quick question that surfers-by can answer with just a quick response themselves. This week's question is:

Have you ever traveled internationally? And if so what do you wish you knew, thought about, brought with you, etc?

Me: I have been to Canada and Guatemala - but nothing like the upcoming trip to Ethiopia. So, I need all the advice I can get.

  3. Yes, I traveled a lot. Besides any necessary shots, pack medicines, feminine hygiene products and toilet paper as they all may difficult to come by. Also, if you will be gone long, some little packets of laundry soap to hand wash clothing.

  4. I wish I had brought a dictionary. We went to Italy and I had to buy one once we got there....sure lots of people spoke English but it felt good to be able to say a few things in their language - plus the signs were in Italian at some places and we had the read them.

Also, we didn't do as much planning as I would have liked! So lots of planning is my advice.

  14. I have only been to Canada once. So I probably wouldn't be much help. But I would make sure that you are up to date on all your shots for that country, and definitely bring hand sanitizer.

  17. I've been to Italy, France and the Caribbean. Bring your camera and some cash and duct tape your purse to your body if you ride a train (not literally, or people might think it's a bomb.)

  18. bring money to get out of country and always have a carry on with one days worth of clothes etc just in case they lose your bag!!

  19. I've been to Canada but that's just about it for international travel. I would say take money and extra clothes as the commenter before me said. Oh, and bring candy bars or something to tide you over in case you get stuck somewhere - seriously.
