Thirty Years Ago

I looked around and saw nothing of significance. Oh, lots of things interested me. The leaves rustling in the wind were beautiful. The sane on my feet felt glorious. The sun was warm and the breeze by the beach was cool. My grandmother cooked dinner. I sat around the table surrounded by aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents and two older cousins. The day was pretty similar to the one before it and the one after it. I was six months old, by the way. :)

But something extremely important did happen that day. Something that would make my life what it is today. Something that I knew nothing about. Something that had nothing to do with me that day. Something that was both a miracle and very common.

What is it you ask? What happened that day (which is really thirty years ago on Sunday)? The woman who would one day be my MIL gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. A boy who would grow into a most wonderful man. A boy who would one day be the best father I have ever met. A boy who would one day steal my heart.

Yes, that innocent day thirty years ago was the day Hubby was born. That day that I still found my feet fascinating and I still drank from a bottle. That day I was completely unaware of what was happening. And yet it was still one of the most influential days of my life.

And so in celebration of that day the family and I will be celebrating Hubby's birthday with him all weekend. We will be doing fun things, going fun places, eating cake and such. I cannot give too much detail as Hubby does not know what we will be doing and in case he reads here I must keep quiet. So, I will just Happy Birthday Hubby!!! I love you with all my heart and I am so lucky to have found you. I hope you enjoy the celebration Big Brother has planned for you.
