Muggabug's Awesome New Babywearing Accessory

Do you all know muggabug? Well, her name is Janet and I met her on twitter. She is an awesome lady who is getting her store up and running. It is a family effort - both she AND her husband work there. When asked why she started her business she explained that her son, Corbin, was getting terrible rashes and even the typical cloth diapering suggestions did not work. When they tried wool the rash immediately cleared up (isn't wool wonderful?). So, after some debating on which kind to buy they opeted to start making their own. And so Janet designs and sews while Jason does all the dying and cutting of material. I think it is so awesome that they work together!!

Because of their new found love of cloth diapers and attachment parenting, muggabug has expanded into other diapering accessories and infants clothing. There are also baby carrier accessories, wet bags, change pad and cloth wipes bags, clothing and pacifier clips. And look for their new bamboo fitted (YAY!! I have recently discovered a love of bamboo)coming in the next few months. muggubug can be found at www.hyenacart.com/muggabug and on facebook as muggabug.

But this is International Babywearing Week and I want to talk to you about Muggabug's awesome new babywearing accessory. It does not have a name yet but you can help Janet out with that in a little while. First, let me tell you about it.

This product is designed to be the end of drooly clothes and the zipper marked nose. muggabug’s brand new baby carrier accessory is designed to make baby carrying even more comfortable, for baby and mama. Attached to your carrier’s straps, this accessory will provide a soft, absorbent barrier that prevents drool from reaching mama’s clothing, and leaving zipper and button marks on baby’s face. Available in colours and styles complimentary to all major baby carrier brands starting November 2009. Machine wash and dry as needed.

And I have to say that I was so excited when Janet told me about this product. I cannot tell you how many times I have shoved a burp cloth in between Big Sister and myself to keep myself from being covered in drool. When she was younger I would not even think of wearing her without a burp cloth. She is not quite as drooly now but as soon as this came in the mail she started cutting a tooth combined with a cold and she is drooly and snotty. So, this new product is perfect for us. And I know I am not the only one with a drooly baby, right? (Please tell me I am right :))

So, how does it work? It attaches to the shoulder strap of your carrier (I only have an Ergo to try it with but I see no reason why it would not work with a becco and Mei tai - I did try it with my Moby and it even worked with that). Then it lies flat on your chest, right where baby's head goes. So, she is safe from your zipper if it is winter and you are wearing a coat and you are safe from her drool if she is a drooly baby like mine. :) I think it works perfectly and I absolutely love it!!! I only wish I had had one sooner.

It is currently available in the flowers (like the one Big Sister is holding) or in dots (see them?) Now, I know you all want one AND I know you are just dying to help Janet and her wonderful family get this product up and running. So.... what I need you to do to be entered is give her an idea for a product name. If you just cannot come up with anything head on over to her henacart store and tell me what you like best. Or do both for two entries. :)

Extra Entries (leave a separate comment for each):
1. First and most importantly, any and all purchases from Muggabug will get 5 extra entries. The Grand Opening is not until Oct. 5 so you will only have two days to purchase but if you are the first person to purchase I'll give you ten entries- come back and leave extra comments letting me know you purchased- I'd love to know what you bought but that info is not necessary. :)

2. Follow me or subscribe to my feed - leave a comment letting me know you did (or already do).

3. Follow Muggabug on twitter - come on back tell me you did(or already do)

4. Follow me on Twitter and tweet this giveaway - leave me the permalink of your tweet (you can get this by clicking on the time of your tweet). And keep your eyes open because sometimes I offer twitter only entries. :)

I will email the winner who will have 48 hours to get back to me or I will pull another winner. Please, please, please make sure your email is attached to your comment. If I do not have your email address I cannot contact you if you win. Thanks so much and good luck.

I've never had problems with drool...but I have a sweaty baby and that is NO fun when she falls asleep against my bare skin. This is genius!

How about "Buggy Bib" since it's from MuggaBUG and it's for babies snug as a bug in a rub?

Don't laugh. I was up until 3am.

Name: Bug Juice Deflector
I could have used this a lot when my son was younger! I had to wash his Peanut Shell almost every night (I tried to save shirts by using it as a deflector!) and ruined a lot of shirts with the spit up from his acid reflux. Now, thankfully, we just have a lot of drool from teething.

This is a great idea. This is one of the must-have items (a burp rag) that I have to take with me even when on a quick trip in the mall with baby in a carrier. But then, where do you stash the rag? A cute rag on a string ( maybe "Thing on a string"?) would be perfect for this sort of thing.

I was sad to see of all of the wonderful things that Muggabug carries, not much is in stock right no. I'm really in the market for wool covers right now, and I'd love to see how much the wool pants. The shoes are darling too!
