Yesterday we attended an event called Balloon Fest yesterday. It is a local festival (small fair might be a better way to put it) where you can watch hot air balloons take off. For the small fee of $150 you can even ride in one. It was fun and while we were there I came across a few things that I would NEVER do. And since it is Monday I figured I would share. And for those of you who do not know what Not me Monday is I will tell you. It is a chance for us to get out of our systems all the things we do during the week that we are less than proud of. Except that since we are perfect (what mom isn't) we obviously did NOT do these things. Get it? If not head on over to My Charming Kids and let MckMama help you clear it up - actually go either way. :)
So, since the festival is at the local beach I obviously did NOT leave all of our swimsuits at home. I did NOT think that the water would be too cold and figure that we would only play in the sand.

While we were playing in the sand I most definitely did NOT allow Big Sister to eat sand.
Or a twig. Obviously NOT because I was too busy trying to take a picture of her with it to stop her.
Since we were all in our clothes I absolutely did NOT encourage my kids to play in the water in their clothes. No way!!
I would NEVER plop Big Sister down in the water with her dress and all. Nope!! That would be plain silly.
After the balloon launching I absolutely did NOT allow Big Sister (who is only nine months old) to eat popcorn. NOT even if it is crunched up well. I know better than that.
And I most definitely did NOT allow my family to stay at the festival until it ended at almost nine-thirty at night. Nope, I would NEVER do such a thing I take bed time very seriously. No matter how much fun everyone is having.
Oh and as you can tell I most definitely did NOT take picture after picture - certainly NOT over 300 of them.
I did not let my nine month old eat a ton of sand at the beach this weekend either!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they had a great time!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has that dress, too!
Of course you would not do any of those things. Because all of them sound like fun, and parenting is extremely serious. ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteobviously, this was NOT amusing. at all. big sister and big brother were not at all cute, and the the stick and sand eating was not picture worthy in the slightest. i am so not smiling ear to ear and itching to brush up my own photography skillz. not not not.
ReplyDeleteI am so mad our trip was a bust! We had a rotten time and we were cold and wet. But at least you got to actually see the balloons launch. We didn't :(
ReplyDeleteAwww...looks like you & your family had a blast!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely did not LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post!!
ReplyDeleteyeah.. just love the family bonding!
