Welcome To The World Baby Girl

No, I am not about to tell you about the book by Fannie Flagg (although it is a really good book - I love just about everything I have read by her). No I am about to talk a little more about my new baby girl. Not that I have any new information to give. She has the most beautiful eyes - that seem to be looking right at you in the pictures they sent us. We placed her picture on our refrigerator (and one in a frame and both kids have one in their family photo albums and I have one in the diaper bag for showing off every time I see someone new and and and but I digress). Every time I walk by the fridge I talk to her and I say a prayer that she will be home with us soon. Big Brother and Big Sister both stop and look at her several times a day. Hubby has her picture at work and has shown her off to all of his co-workers. We are proud parents. We are very excited about the newest member of our family.

And on those lines I expressed to my mother that I really wanted a baby shower. Every baby deserves to be celebrated and both of the other kids had a shower. Having a shower just adds to the excitement, it is fun and it helps you make it through the wait time (which is killer if you ask me). So, I told my mom that I wanted a shower and she made a face at me and said no. That that was simply "not done." I was frustrated and disappointed. So, I did what any tweeting, blogging mom would do.

I complained to my friends on twitter and within a few hours my friend Slee from Paisley and Pretties had very graciously decided to throw me a virtual shower. A little later that day she got some help from Jess of MonkeyToes Reviews and Giveaways. Together they are working on all the details. I am not privy at this point to all that they want to do. I know they are asking for posts, youtube videos and there is even a twitter party in the works. You can go here or here for details and to let the ladies know if you will be attending (please, please attend - it is going to be so fun!!!!).

I am so honored and touched by the fact that these ladies are willing to do all this work for me. They are both fantastic ladies who are always there for me. I cannot believe that they are willing to do these things for me. I cannot possibly thank them enough. So, please stop over to them, let them know that you will attend (please do) and let them know how grateful I am to them for being such wonderful ladies.

  5. like you said, every baby deserves to be celebrated. every last one of them. and i get that events get smaller as folks pile on the kids, and the old school idea was to make sure a body has all the stuff they need in the beginning, but frankly, there's also a sense of community and celebration that needs to happen too, AND it's impossible to have all the stuff covered when you add a new kid and the others are still little. more kids equals more need, even if it is just for sippy cups, because gods know that older siblings don't like to give theirs up when the bebe' is still using one.
    *hugs*
    you deserve this, and more.

  7. Awesome that you have such good friends to do that. I agree with you that every baby needs to be celebrated, I wish I had friends/family that agreed. Unfortunately they don't seem to agree!

I'll have to check out the posts about your shower. Good Luck!
