Made With Love

So, this week's Small Talk Six is six things you made that you are proud of. And I am so excited about this topic because I get to show of some of the very special things I have made. The first three were all made for Big Brother and the last three were all made for Big Sister and pretty soon I will have to get started on the ones for Little Sister. So, here they are....

First, are Big Brother's curtains. I cross-stitched the pictures in the middle of the valances and then sewed the curtains. They took a lot of time but not only do I love seeing them whenever I walk into the room but he knows I made them as I waited for him and that I thought and prayed about him with each and every stitch.

Next came his blanket. Again I cross stitched the Pooh pictures and then quilted those together with the fabric. He loves this blanket and even though it is a baby blanket and, obviously, way too small for him he still sleeps with it.

And lastly I latch hooked him a picture for his wall. I can feel that the time for this and his curtains to come down and it makes me a little sad but it is okay I am so glad that he had them and that I made them.

Then for Big Sister I made curtains as well. This time I thought a little further ahead and made them a little more grown up and simply quilted them together in colors that match her walls.

And then I made her a picture for the wall too. I could not find a latch hook so I cros stitched this one and had it custom framed. I think it came out really well. It may be my favorite, simply because it came out so well.

And the last one.... I am actually not going to tell you about (can you guess what it is) or show you pictures. Why? Because when I am finished with it (this week hopefully but more likely next week) I am going to post it for my tackle it Tuesday post. So, you will just have to come back and see what the final thing I made for Big Sister is. :)
Now, don't forget to go on over and see what other people are proud of at the new Mom Dot.

  18. I think it's wonderful that your mother taught you how to cross stitch when you were a little girl. my mother was never patient enough for cross stitch and neither was i. truth be told, i don't think my grandmother was either. she was the sort that bought the fakey preprinted quit looking fabric and then sewed around the edges to make it look like she'd done the patchwork. i on the other hand at least do my own quilting. :-)

  19. I love the cute Pooh stuff. My baby room is decorated in the Pooh theme and each time my kids have outgrown it and moved to a new room it makes me sad. (Although, they had to move to make room for a new baby, so I haven't had to give up the Pooh theme yet!)
