Our Crazy Weekend

Okay, so if you don't know what Not Me! Monday is let me tell you. It is an awesome blog carnival invented by MckMama where we confess all of the difficult or less than perfect things we did all week. It is a kind of therapy and very cleansing. The only thing is that since we are all the most perfect mamas in the world we, obviously did NOT do these things. Get it? If not go check out MckMama's awesome blog and she can explain it to you. :) (Oh and this explanation was NOT for mom who was, obviously, NOT confused by last weeks post. Nope!! NOT my mom - she is WAY quicker than that. :) Hi Mom!!)

Okay, now while the kids and I were away this weekend Hubby did NOT clean my whole house. Nope! He couldn't have. We all know husbands do NOT clean when their wives are away. So, he could NOT possibly have cleaned so well that I am considering going away more often.

As for me, well, let's start with how the whole single mom thing I was doing was NOT hard. Nope! Easy peasy!

I was NOT grateful for the pouch sling that turned a very difficult job of carrying the tray of food a baby and a diaper bag through a VERY busy McDonald's into something manageable. No, I would NEVER rely on something like that.

I totally did NOT tell my brother's girlfriend (or well, his NOT girlfriend - but I am saving that story for later this week) that I think she is awesome because she is short like me. Nope!! I have WAY more class than that. But it was okay because she did NOT tell me that it makes her happy to have more short people in the crowd. :)

My mother did NOT request connecting rooms when we checked in only to be told the rooms were all booked so the two rooms we had (a floor and a corner away from one another) were the best we could do. She did NOT check in with them again about connecting rooms when we were getting back to the hotel at 8:45pm. At this point they did NOT, miraculously, have two rooms numbers 222 and 223. We did NOT get to those rooms only to find out they were actually across they hall from one another. Well, whatever it was late and at least they were close if we needed them. At this point we did NOT come to find out that the lock in room 223 was broken so no one could get in. We did NOT have to move rooms again! We did NOT get into our room to find out that the smoke detector was missing a battery and beeping every thirty seconds. At that point, we could NOT possibly have found out that the maintance people were gone for the day. The front desk certainly did NOT tell us that if we wanted to do anything about it we would have to go buy our own 9 volt battery. No way that would be ridiculous!! And after all that it could NOT possibly have been 11pm before the kids and I went to bed.

After going to bed at 11pm we were most definitely NOT awake at 6am.

We did NOT go down to breakfast only to find out (big surprise) it was terrible. We did NOT decide to go out to breakfast only 15 minutes before we had intended leaving for the graduation.

My step-dad did NOT decide to park about a mile and a half away at a grocery store because he was worried if we drove we would be stuck in traffic and not make it in time. He did NOT spend the entire walk trying to rush us all. My mother and I were NOT in heels so running was NO problem!! :) We did NOT make it there only nine minutes before graduation started. No way!! We would NEVER do that!!

My brother and his friends did NOT pick a swanky restaurant where I had to worry about Baby Sister and how loud she might be. The waitress did NOT insist on waiting until our entire party was there. Half the group was NOT late. My kids did NOT handle it like champs. :) Especially once I got the waitress to bring us some bread for the tables while we waited.

The party was NOT a great time. Baby Sister and Big Brother did NOT take quite the liking to UncleM's NOT girlfriend. His friends were NOT super cool either. His roommate is NOT a Rangers fan and therefor did NOT make a buddy out of Big Brother.

And lastly we did NOT leave there at 5:15. Nope!! NOT when we had a 3.5 hour drive home and would still have to stop for dinner. Then I did NOT take a wrong turn and add 15 minutes to our drive.

I did NOT drop my easy pass and have to go through a turn table without it because when I tried to flag down the attendant she did NOT yell at me and threaten to call a state trooper (ya know instead of just taking the thing and waving it for me). I did NOT do the same thing later in the day with an unexpected toll booth. The guy there did NOT yell at me either. The second time I did find it though.

And all in all it was NOT a good weekend. Big Brother, Baby Sister and I did NOT have a good time. And we did NOT miss Hubby at all. :)
