So, for this week's tackle I have to make it very clear that I did nothing. Hubby did all the tackling. As some of you know Big Brother, Baby Sister and I went away this weekend. Hubby had to stay home. He was all alone for two whole days. Now, if it had been me I would have sat around and done nothing all weekend. I would have enjoyed the quiet and been thrilled for an excuse to do nothing. But not Hubby he got busy!! You can read his version of what was going on (and even watch a funny video) here. What did he do? He cleaned my house!!! Unfortunately, we did not take any before pictures. But I did take pictures of the beautifully clean house. Ya ready for the tour of my house? Here goes....
First you can come on in and check out my living room - dusted, clean floors, the whole shabang!!

Next we can head up the stairs into the hallway outside the kids rooms? Do you see the no dog hair on the carpet? You do not know that dog hair on these stairs is fairly standard but it is!! :)

Now, we can go check out Big Brother's room. And well, the thing is that before Hubby cleaned in here it was getting hard to walk in here. So this is truly a beautiful sight.

Then, of course, there is Baby Sister's room. Her room was less of a disaster than Big Brother's room but there was all kinds of junk on the floor and lots of stuff that just did not belong anywhere. And now it looks a lot like the pretty room I made before she was here.

Right next store is the bathroom. And it is the one room I am glad we do not have any pictures of before the clean - I can only imagine what you would have thought of me. :) Letting my kids bathe in there. You see the white floor? It is shiny now!!

Now, we can go on back downstairs and see the kitchen. The thing about the kitchen is I did not take this picture right away. You can see the cookies on the counter and the bowl on the shelf above the sink (the dough for rolls was rising in there). So, I had already started to mess the kitchen up but you get the picture, right?

Now, walk on through the kitchen and come on in to my family room. This is where the toys go and where we hang out. As you can imagine this is a difficult room to keep up with. It is also the room that takes a lot of abuse. But look at how nice it looks after Hubby got to it. All the toys belong somewhere. The sofas are fluffed, with nothing on them.
Do you see the glare on the window? That is because he washed the windows - inside AND out!!!

Now, head up the stairs into our hallway! Look nothing on the stairs, no clothes on the way to the laundry room, no misc items. This is really a thing of beauty!!

Now, take a look in our room. Our room is the last room to ever get clean. Everything just gets shoved in there and waits for us to eventually get put somewhere. It is the room that is always left a mess. And now it is clean!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

And lastly, our bathroom is clean!!! It is an amazing and beautiful thing!!

All in all it was Heaven to come home (from a very long weekend) to find a beautifully clean house!!
In addition to being my usual tackle it post I also found a great new carnival called Toot Your Horn Tuesday over at A Silly Little Sparrow. Now the idea is to tell about how awesome you are but this week (the first week) I just have to give all the credit to Hubby. Next week I will tell you all how awesome I am. But for now I suppose you could say my big accomplishment was marrying this amazing man! So, go check it out and even write your own accomplishments. Hope to see ya there.

If it can help feel you good, your entire post is exactly the same as here, but the part "Our room is the last room to ever get clean. Everything just gets shoved in there and waits for us to eventually get put somewhere. It is the room that is always left a mess." it's even more like that here!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing!
okay, is he for hire???? what a blessing indeed. Now the question becomes how long does it take the little ones to make the messes again, lol. Oh the brutal cycle, he-he
ReplyDeleteWow. That is a spotless house! What a pleasure.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! He did great. Can he give a Tip List! :)
I loved taking the tour and feeling the inspiration to clean (for a few moments anyways!) I was not aware that dog hair was optional, I may have to revisit that concept a little later today.
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, your husband deserves a HUGE toot for his hard work, but you get a TOOT as well for being a wife that is proud of her husband and acknowledges when he did well.
Tooting my horn in praise of YOU!
If I came home and my house looked like that, I would think I was in the wrong place!
ReplyDeleteWTG, your hubby!
Ok, we'll have to give these TOOTS to your hubby! But you get cheers for picking a good one =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with Toot Your Horn Tuesday.

ReplyDeletewow, what a nice hubby to help out. We went away for the weekend and left my 16 yr old son home...when I came back, I found the house vacuumed, trash picked up and laundry and kitchen areas very clean. funny thing was, I didn't even ask him to do it, he was bored and decided to spruce things up a bit. Even my 4 cats kept their area clean :) thanks for sharing the pics!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your floors look clean enough to eat off them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet hubby you have. Any chance he can train others?
Please send me some of hubby's energy bottled!!
ReplyDeleteHe did a great job, I would love to have my house looking like that.
I heard some great news yesterday, my cousin's child is on the way in June or July! She is not a baby like they were thinking, she is about 2. They are thrilled. You will be next!!!

I wonder if I go away for a weekend if my hubby would do the same???? Maybe yours could come help him!!!!! hehe Kudos to your husband... he did a great job!
ReplyDeletekudos to your hubby!! I think I would pass out if I came home to such a clean house! Our space is so small that it seems like the mess just gets transferred from one room to another - and like you our bedroom is ALWAYS last! I tend to just shove the stuff in and shut the door when company comes :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I love coming home to a clean house!
ReplyDeletecoming home to a clean house is the best! Yay for you, and yay for hubby!!
