Tackling Cloth Diapers - Swim Diapers

Have you entered my Tuttobellisimo, poster print or onesie giveaway yet?

So, last on my list of diapers to discuss are swim diapers (I didn't miss any did I?). Now, that summer is here swim diapers become a very important thing to have around. The summer that Big Brother was Baby Sister's age we went swimming almost daily. Now they come in a package of 12 for $8. That means we were spending $8 every two weeks that summer. Then we signed Big Brother up for swimming lessons in the fall. The lessons were once a week and we would go swimming as a family once a week. Even though Big Brother was completely potty trained by 18 months we were nervous about him having an accident in the pool so we continued to use the swim diapers until te summer before he turned 3 (a little ridiculous, I know).

So, I spent a lot of money on swim diapers. So, obviously, cloth swim diapers would be a better deal. They go on exactly like the disposable swim diapers. They pull on (in a fashion similar to underwear). They have no real absorbent part - just a thin layer of mesh to grab the usual diaper stuff. They are easy on, easy off and just as easy to wash as the rest of your cloth diapers.

And then of course there is the cuteness factor. Look at Baby Sister in her really adorable swim diaper with her swim suit top. I may just have to go out and buy her a swim shirt that matches that diaper because it will be sad to me to cover it up with her swim suit bottom. :)

So, in all seriousness swim diapers - the cloth ones - are just as easy to use as the disposable version. They have a huge advantage in that they are (like all cloth diapers) totally reusable. And there you have it - you have just tackled summer in cloth diapers. Better known as swim diapers. And come on back on Thursday - I am giving one away!!!

  5. Oh my gosh, Baby sister couldn't look any cuter with that swim diaper on! I'll def. have to get one for my little man this summer. I bought him one but it's too small so it will have to go to the new baby...and maybe a more girly one for her too :)

  6. We actually started using cloth swim diapers before we went cloth. They are much easier than those disposable ones, plus they don't hold a ton of water, so I think they are more comfy for baby. :)
