So, I don't know about you but when I hear Kissimmee I think Disney World. Or at Universal Studios. Or at least Sea World. I have been to any (all) of those theme parks several times in my life and have usually stayed at a resort in Kissimmee. It is a really nice place but, honestly I never gave Kissimmee much thought at all. I never considered what there was to do in Kissimmee itself. But when I heard about this vacation deal (I'll tell you about it later) I found some really cool options (even free ones) of things to do in Kissimmee.
Osceola County (where Kissimmee is located) has an incredibly large (the largest population in the US) population of nesting bald eagles. I have only seen a bald eagle once in my life but they are really beautiful animals and I would love to see them nesting. Additionally, there is a gorgeous beach in Kissimmee where you can spend an entire day of family fun for free. Have a picnic on the beach, play on the playground, go swimming or fishing. And those kind of days are so important if you are going to do the amusement park vacation.
One more really cool thing to do in Kissimmee is hit Old Town Shopping, Dining, and Entertainment Complex. If you are a car buff Old Town is a must on Friday and/or Saturday night. On Friday nights the streets are lined with beautiful custom and exotic cars. On Saturday night there is a cruise that is an 18 year tradition. It features classic cars, perfect for bringing back some memories. Plus, there is live entertainment. I love live entertainment. I am not so into cars but the live entertainment gets me everytime.
And now that we have covered all the things you can do for free let's move on to what you would need to pay for. Now, do not get me wrong I love Universal Studios and Sea World. If I had infinite time to go on a vacation I would do all of it. But the truth is if I were heading to Kissimmee I would go to Disney World. I love Disney World. Hubby and I went to Disney for our honeymoon.
