So, this week's Small Talk Six topic is 6 things other people do that make you personally uncomfortable.
This one is pretty interesting and honestly, took a little bit of thinking on my part to come up with some good answers. But here goes:
1. Mumbling - It drives me absolutely bonkers when people mumble. I think it comes from the fact that my dad mumbles all the time but hates to repeat himself. So, if I have to ask someone to repeat themselves I get all nervous. I would rather just nod my head and say nothing if I did not hear the first time.
2. Swearing - This is a big one for me. People swearing make me very uncomfortable. Especially if my kids are around. But even if they are not it still makes me shift in my seat or look away. I just know there is a way to express yourself without using those words.
3. Smoking - I hate the smell of smoke. I hate the way I start coughing anytime I am around someone who is smoking. And, honestly I just feel like I should not have to breath in someone else's second hand smoke. I mean it is not good for me (or them) or my family and since we are not the ones smoking why should I have to breath it in.
4. People who touch (or manhandle in anyway) my kids. I will leave the explanation of that one up to Hubby. Go ahead and read what he has to say on the matter.
5. Confrontation - In any form. Probably why the mumbling gets to me. I get all nervous and my stomach knots up and I just hate it. I hate having to defend my position or be on the defensive for something I did (or didn't do).
6. Somebody calling me out on being loud. Okay I know that sounds silly but I am LOUD!!!! I come from a big family (my mom is one of eight so when we are all in one room it is a very crowded room) and we are all loud. I am so uncomfortable with it and when someone points out to me that I am loud I tend to shut down. My train of thought is gone and I just want to run and hide.
