So, the wonderful people over at Moby Wrap were gracious enough to donate a Moby to be given to one of my readers. Now, if you have been around for awhile you already know that I Love My Moby and that I have a few quirks with how I use it. And for a how to guide on wrapping it you can check me out on youtube. NOw let me tell you just a little more.
First, it comes with a fantastic, step-by-step instruction book. With instructions on several different possible holds. Including how to nurse while wearing your baby. I love this about it - even though Baby Sister and I only use one or two different holds. I have tried lots of carriers and I find this one to be the most comfortable. I see people walking around in one of the more uncomfortable (to me) carriers and I have to resist the urge to stop them and tell them about how great the Moby is.
I can walk around with Baby Sister in the Moby for hours. The last few days she has been feeling a little sick. She has spent several hours in the Moby because she will not sleep and she will not be put down. I have also walked around DC with her in the Moby. Then there is her comfort - she is comfortable in there when she is not comfortble anywhere else. She sleeps well in it too-no matter where we are (even a noisy hockey game).
Now the instructions say it can hold a child up to 35 pounds. Big Brother is just under 35 pounds (he's four and a half), so I decided yesterday to try putting him in. Do you think it worked? Do you think he fit? Could I carry him around like I do with her? Ya know what? He fit! I was kind of shocked. He is really big. I don't think I will carry him around like that - he is too busy and he likes to walk (run) too much to want to be carried around. But it was really fun to get him in there and see how it worked. And it was comfortable - if he were younger and wanting to be carried I could definitely do it.

One last tip. I find carrying a baby around while we are both wearing winter coats to be very bulky and uncomfortable. Which is very inconvenient since I live somewhere that winter coats are required almost six months out of the year. With the Moby I can still enjoy being outside in the cold with my kids. I simply put Baby Sister in the Moby and wear a coat that is too large for me. I use one of Hubby's. I can zip or button Baby Sister and I both inside. It is so nice - and the bonus for me is that I get to stay extra toasty by sharing her warmth.
So, I love the Moby and I have only one suggestion on how they could make it better. They need to make them with sports team logos on the front. Right smack in the middle so that they are visible when the baby is being carried in almost all positions (the exception being the hip hold as the middle is then on your shoulder or the Kangaroo Kare that puts the middle on the inside). I would seriously own one with the Rangers logo and if they went so far as to do minor league teams another one with the Crunch logo on it. Plus, of course, my everyday one. And I seriously think more men would use them if they had sports teams on them. What guy wouldn't want to wear his baby and his favorite team all day long. :)
Now for the best part - As I said earlier I am giving one away. In order to enter just leave me a comment. Tell me what your first experience with Baby wearing was. Did you see someone else wearing their baby? Did you get one for yourself? Was your first one the right one for you? Anything about your first experience. I saw many blogger moms wearing their babies and it inspired me to give it a try. I have only 2 carriers, a mei tei and a ring sling. The mei tei I bought on ebay and the ring sling a friend made me. I'm not really comfy in the ring sling yet, but the mei tei I'm okay at. I 1st wore my daughter then 18 months at a boat race. She kept running off, so I lifted her in and she fell asleep for almost the whole time. It was great. I would love to try this moby wrap with my son, 8 months. Thanks for the chance.

ReplyDeleteI first learned about baby wearing when a friend showed up to a picnic wearing her 2 month old son (I was 4 months pregnant at the time). My mother made me a pouch style sling that worked great for dad when the baby was small. With me she preferred a more traditional baby carrier. Of course, now that she is bigger its pretty uncomfortable to carry her in that. I have heard great things about the Moby wrap, but have been intimidated by it. (Dumb I know)
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to your feed.
ReplyDeleteI first heard about baby wearing about 5 yrs. ago on a message board when my 2nd dd was born. I have tried a soft front pack carrier and a Mei Tei..the former was awful, the mei tei was okay but not for me. I have a made-at-home wrap kind of like a moby that I was going to try but I would love to try an authentic one! With 3 kids already baby wearing almost seems like a must!!

My first babywearing experience (that I recall...you know, those early days are foggy!) was when my oldest was 9 days old. We were at a church event and I wore him in some sling I got at Babies R Us. It was just ok...rather hot for June, and quickly became uncomfortable. I've since owned about 5-6 other carriers, including slings, wraps, and soft-structured carriers. Can't say I have a favorite, although I do think wraps are quite versatile!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I blogged about the giveaway-

What a great giveaway! I would love to try a Moby!
ReplyDeleteI tried doing baby wearing when my dd was born, but our carrier just didn't work for her. I was really skeptical about the Moby, but I've heard such wonderful things about it. I love the fact that you can breast feed while wearing it. We don't want to spend the money on a double stroller, so I'm definitely hoping to wear baby #2. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to try a Moby! :)

I'm due in May and never used a carrier before, but I've read so many wonderful things about babywearing I'm eager to give it a try! I think it will be helpful since my son will be 22 months when the baby gets here. I'll be able to keep her safe and keep up with him, too! Thanks for the giveaway~~
ReplyDeleteI saw a mama at Walmart with her baby in a mei tai and I was so fascinated! The baby looked so warm and snuggly and comfortable, and the mama had her hands free, rather than trying to push some giant stroller around or carry a big heavy car seat. I started researching babywearing and knew that it was definitely for me!

ReplyDeleteThanx again! :)
My first experience Babywearing was with a Moby. And it was awesome! I could wear my youngest for hours while he slept so comfortably. He is our 8th and I sure wish I'd known about the Moby with some of the others!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I just subscribed to your blog as well! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI started Babywearing with my third baby, I never really knew about it before but have been wearing a baby for 5 years now and I love it:)
ReplyDeleteI heard a Babyhawk mentioned on my Due in April board. Googled that, which led me to TheBabyWearer.com. A Babies Beyond Border, OMT, KangaRose and Kanga-X later I'm so glad I found out what I did because Taylor loves the closeness of being carried!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest is 8--sure wish they had this when she was a baby!!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the VGNO!
I don't know my first experience, as I and all my siblings were worn (way back in the late 80s/early 90s) in ring slings. I do remember when I was 12 I found my mom's padded ring sling and rebozo and spent a few days figuring them out!
ReplyDeleteThey've just always been a part of life for me.
I never used a sling, but always had my baby bjorn on with a little one snug inside. wish i would have known a little more about this type of sling (this was before i was on the internet all the time looking for new products!) would love to try one out though and pass it on to my siter-in-law who is due in the summer. thanks!

Thanks for doing this mama, I could really use a moby I have always want to try one out and I have a very special little one who needs to be held close all the time. If I only had the funds to buy one new I would :) Thanks again for posting this you are such a wonderful mama!
Peace!
My best friend used a wrap with her baby, before I ever got pregnant, and I thought it was pretty neat. Then, after I had my son I "rediscovered" wraps and slings and made my own ring slings and pouches. They are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI first started reading about baby wearing on diaper swappers and decided I wanted one once it became clear how often my baby wanted to be held. With her being #4 I can't hold her all the time so a hands free option was a must.I have a pouch and a wrap that were made locally , but would love to try the moby wrap also :)

I think these look so cool! And useful! I should totally win...that would just ensure that I'll be pregnant soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy first experience wearing a baby is the baby I nanny for. We got some wrap carrier or another...but it definitely is not as good as the Moby appears to be.
too bad my babies are all grown :(
ReplyDeletehappy VGNO!
My first experience with baby wearing was when I ordered some maternity clothes on ebay and the seller sent me a sling as well. I had never seen one but thought it was kind of neat. I began researching from there. I had my baby 13 days ago so now I need a sling that I can use with a newborn. I don't want to put him down. It's so nice to have him near me so baby wearing is a perfect solution. :)

My first experience baby wearing was with my now 4.5 year old son when he was a newborn. It was a garage sale Baby Bjorn, and it gave me the ability to get things done that i desperately needed. Unfortunatley my little chunker outgrew that thing fast, as did my now 5 months old (at almost 20lbs)!

Great giveaway! I got a Lucky Baby sling before the G-man was born. I loved it! We used it all te time. It got uncomfortable as he got bigger. I have a Moshi Baby Carries that we still use. It is so comfortable. I would love a wrap for #2!

ReplyDeleteI learned about slings from attachment parenting blogs. The first sling I bought was a Tricotti. My daughter is 27 months old now so we only use the Ergo but a Moby would be a lovely gift for a friend who is expecting baby no 2.
ReplyDeleteIve always wanted a Moby with my DD and DS but there out of my price range lol... I started reading about baby wearing when I was pregnant with number 1. I was at the park one day and seen a lady wearing her baby and baby looked so comfy, snug and close. I wanted that for my own children.

My first baby wearing experiece was not the best as I had a snuggli and a 15 lb baby. My baby killed and It was not comfortable! I did however love the closeness and being hands free. I since then have got to try a sling which I love and a mei tai. I really want to try a wrap with my new baby girl though as now I am not a mother to just 1 I am a mommy to 5 little girls and being hands free is very important. I just love the closeness and the bond I feel with my baby being worn so close to my heart. Thank you for the opportunity!

My first baby wearing experience was with a snugli...I hated it and decided there must be something better. Someone on my birth board was talking about moby wraps and I decided to try my hand at making one, learned how to tie it from a website...and never looked back. Baby girl #2 practically lived in my homemade wraps for her first 6 months. Baby #3 is due in September and I will make him/her a wrap as well...but I would also love to have a "real" Moby to try out, correct my pattern, give to a friend? etc. :) Thanks for doing this lotto mama!

Please enter me - I'd love to try a Moby!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy first babywearing was after I registered for the Snugli at BRU because my sister told me I might want one. While it was nice for dh, it was not nice on my back once the baby got bigger! And baby never looked quite comfy in it. I tried a sling but that always made me nervous because I'm smaller framed and it seemed too 'loose' for my comfort with baby's safety. So with my next baby I configured my own moby-type wrap and it worked really well! I would love to try out a real Moby with our next little one due in May!! Thanks for the opportunity!

I don't have a baby carrier as of now! I'm looking into getting one! It would be so handy at times! I'd love to give this one a try.

A friend gave me a knit wrap she made when I had my first. I loved it, but it was basically one layer tshirt material and I had to stop using it with her well before she hit 20 lbs due to it stretching. Now we're expecting our second in April, and I'd love to try a Moby. I've heard great things about them!
ReplyDeleteI have learned about babywearing online. I'm pregnant with number one, due in May, and am looking forward to getting and using a Moby.
ReplyDeleteMy first experience was with a Moby Wrap. I was very intimidated as there are so many twists and turns.

ReplyDeleteI first learned about baby wearing on a community board. I started with the Moby wrap when my LO was 3months old. I loved it. IT was soooo simple to put on and I could wear him for hours. Now that he is one I use a Mei Tai alot so I can easily cary him on my back. I love baby wearing. It give me the chance to spend more time with him while getting the things I need done..done.

ReplyDeleteI started wearing when my ds was 3months old. I tried sling bought on ebay and it was the worst carrier every lol. thankfully I decided to look online for help. found TBW which gave so much help and bought 6 or so carriers and even made my own. I love wraps :) thanks so much for having this giveaway

My mom used to wear my little sister in podegi (we're koreans) My first experience was with a pouch sling which I had on me pretty much all day! I wish I had more guidance when I was first learning to wear my daughter and save myself couple of months of back pain.
ReplyDeleteplease enter me! i saw a friend use one of these the other day and was amazed! this would help with a baby who wont let me put him down!
ReplyDeleteOh I love babywearing. I got a carrier (Snugly) before DS was born. It was for DH...more of a manly carrier for him lol. I got myself a Hotsling which I loved for the newborn stage b/c I could cradle him and snuggled down to sleep so easy in it. Now that he is bigger I just got a Sleepy Wrap (very similar to the Moby). Can I say I'm in love with it. It's the perfect carrier for me. The Moby is so similar I'm sure I would love it too.

I have the baby bjorn and got it while I was pregnant with my son. I loved wearing him but only could wear him for a few months before he got too heavy and big for it. I would love to try something new with this one due in Sept.

ReplyDeleteI love babywearing. I started with and Infantino front pack when DS was born (he's now 19 mo) then a friend gave me a ring sling and I found an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder at a consignment store. I wanted something more comfortable that didn't hurt my shoulder or back so after having DD (3 mo now) I finally got a mei tai and a moby wrap. I wear DD all the time - especially shopping while DS sits in the cart. I have a sister who wants to try out a moby wrap too.

ReplyDeleteI first heard about it from a friend I think and when I was pregnant I got a front pack carrier at my baby shower and I got a sling. He doesn't seem to care for the sling I bought and it is very difficult to get him in it. I'd love to try something else, but don't really have the money. Would love to win this and see if it works better for us.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! Well, I had never seen anyone wear their babies(My sisters and friends are VERY mainstream). After seeing me decide to CD, EBF, and cosleep with my DD, my mother suggested wearing my LO too! I guess in her artistic,(and very hidden hippie)past she and her friends had made these baby carriers out of old cotton curtains and learned how to wrap them(very similar to a Moby)! She gave me an idea of what it should look like, I found an old curtain of my grandmother's and made my own too! I LOVE it! I bake with her, go for walks with her and have worn the thing ragged.
ReplyDeleteI started babywearing when i went with a friend to a babywearing workshop at an all-natural baby boutique. I started with a gypsy mama and it was great for my 11mo old! i would love to try a moby!

ReplyDeleteI found out about wearing my baby through a forum about cloth diapers. Started buying and have been in love since. I wore my first daughter, my second (still do), and will be wearing #3 when the child gets here. I don't have a stretch wrap so I am entering to get my hands on a moby.

ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi!!
ReplyDeleteI had a snuggli from the begining with dd but It wasn't until I started using cloth diapers and headed over to diaper swappers that I really learned about baby wearing. The first thing I ever purchased on diaper swappers was a mai tei!
Enter us pretty please!!!! I have always wanted to try a mobi!
I first experienced babywearing when I visited a friend living in Germany using a didymus. She wore her babe everywhere this way! He was happy, napped, nursed, fell asleep at night all using the wrap. I thought it was the coolest thing. And now I plan to try it with my first babe due in June!!
ReplyDeleteI starting CDing first and then heard about babywearing. I made my first pouch after the second child and now use a wrap and ring sling for the 3rd :)
ReplyDeleteMy sister is very much into wraps. She has several different kinds that she has gotten as gifts, hand-me-downs and borrows from various friends. Last time I was up to see her, I was the extra hand. It works very well with the itty bittys because my hair is very much like hers, and if I use her shampoo and soap when I am there, my body to hold a baby works just as well and gives her a few hours or days to be hands free for the other kids and things to do.
ReplyDeleteIt was a little confusing at first, so she would tie us in, but I am sure I could get the hang of it. My girl is due in August, and I know that I really want a wrap to carry her in. I cannot wait for her, and winning a wrap would be absolutely fabulous.
Thank you for the opportunity.

My first experience with BWing was with a RS my friend loaned me. DS hated it and I got very frustrated! I was determined to BW, though, because I wanted to be able to hold DS and still get things done. I now have a Mei Tai that works fairly well, and a Moby which is great! I would love to win this as a gift for my SIL or close friend, who are both expecting! Thanks :)

When I had my daughter, I had no idea about babywearing. No one ever told me. Since then, I became a social worker, a doula and a childbirth educator where I learned all the wonderful things about babywearing! Now that I am expecting number 2, I have no doubt I want to babywear. This wrap would be a wonderful start! Thanks for the chance.

I love wearing my baby! I read in a baby magazine how it creates a close bond between the wearer and the child. I am still trying out different slings to see which suits us the best and would love to try this one. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm following your blog!
ReplyDeleteI first saw babywearing on the internet and found it fascinating. I began to do a bit of research and found a site on how to make your own. I did not have the funds to buy a sling when I wasn't even sure if I would like it or not. I knew no one who'd ever wore their babies before. Anyways, I bought some material and made a pouch sling from the Karma Baby tutorial. I loved it. I made a few more for me and for some friends. The girls enjoy being carried and I like that I know right where they are when we are out in public.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try a Moby. I've never tried a wrap before but they look really comfy for the babies.
When my son was born, I bought a SSC but we used it very little. His chubby little legs were so hard to get in and out of it. With #2 on the way, I've been trying to decide what I want to try this time and I've had my eye on a Moby, but I just can't decide which one I want!!
ReplyDeleteMy first experience was with a Bjorn and it wasn't that great!! My son is now 20 mos. and I just started BWing again (so I consider this my "first" really). I have a beco 4th gen and 2 MT's and LOVE them!! I decided it was time for me to start wearing my toddler when I couldn't keep him in a cart at the store.... problem solved!! He LOVES being worn...
ReplyDeleteI also subscribed through bloglines!!
ReplyDeleteI first saw a woman wearing her baby at the doctor's office. I thought it was really cool and started checking out baby wearing on the internet. I had a ring slng I used, but my DD is now 2 and we don't really use it anymore...she is super active. But I would looooove a moby, especially to be able to breastfeed #2 while out (that was always hard for me).
ReplyDeleteHoping I win! (If I do, please contact me as Amaggiepie on Diaper Swappers)
My son never liked the sling as an infant, but once he was in daycare and we commuted on the bus, the sling became our best friend. He's 2, but little, only 26 lbs, so I can throw him in the sling at daycare, put my coat on over both of us, and walk to the bus stop. It's so much easier than carrying a squirmy kid in my arms, especially with all the stuff we have at the end of the day!
ReplyDeleteI saw babywearing when I was pregnant with my first daughter but never really did too much of it with her because she was very content and liked being in her car seat or riding in the stroller. Now that she's bigger and I have a 3-month-old who loves to be held, I'm learning the benefits but haven't found a carrier that has been "the one" for us yet. I've heard great things about the Moby though and would love to win one!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

As a mother who knew I would breastfeed, I thought a sling would be good for me. Good coverage, not too hard to figure out (or so I thought), and so I got one. It worked, but it was a not-so-good one and after my baby got bigger, it just wasn't working anymore.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to buy or make a Moby...almost bought one but there was no price tag on it, and I didn't have time for them to figure it out...a few days later I found a used mei tai for cheaper, and I've been absolutely loving it!
But I still want a Moby for my next baby as I think it will work better for a newborn...but I am like you. I feel bad when I see people trying to babywear and how much it must hurt or giving up when I know they can find a way to make it work for them and make their life a whole lot easier!!
My first experience with babywearing was when I was pregnant. I was watching one of the local morning shows and a mom who had an invented a carrier was on to promote it. I had never heard of wearing your baby, but immediately knew that I wanted to do it. I went out that same day and bought her carrier, the Baby K'Tan!
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't remember the first time I saw baby wearing. I'd guess that it may have been in a magazine while I was pregnant with my son 4 years ago, but I really can't say for sure. I bought a padded ring sling online to use with him, and I loved it. With my daughter I now use a regular ring sling made by a good friend, but my daughter is now 7 months old, and getting a little bigger, and I really wanted to try some other baby carriers.

My first experience was with a ring sling boy do i LOVE that thing for newborns. Just slide it on & they sleep while you have 2 hands to take care of other kiddos :D
ReplyDeleteI can't remember where I got the idea to use a sling. Slings and my babies just seem to go together! My first sling experience was with a padded ring sling. I never felt like it was secure, so I kept trying and fell in love with my unpadded, custom-made ring sling. I've used it with all three of my own children, and several babies at my church when they got their Aunt Crystal lovin'!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! I'm expecting #4 in (hopefully) two weeks (or sooner, that'd be okay, too!).
ReplyDeleteMy first wearing experience was The Hateful Bjorn. I have since come to my senses... I have a couple Hostlings, a mei tai, and a podegi (my absolute favorite for a toddler).
Nice to meet another Upstate mama!
Following your blog.

ReplyDeleteI wore my son and walked the track. It was an indoor track and I got some weird looks.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I'd love to have a Indy Colts horseshoe right in the middle for the world to see :D I had a lady special make a ring sling for me in NFL fabric... too bad it's not comfortable. I think the fabric is too thick.
ReplyDeleteMy first babywearing experience was at a store (Big Lots) and saw a woman wearing a BEAUTIFUL asian print ring sling. I wanted one... and I wasn't even pregnant or thinking about having kids. It was just that pretty. Now I have 3 ring slings (all WAHM) and I don't really like them, though it's easier on my arms.

My husband was the one who picked our baby-wearing device, a Didymos. He loves it! He hogs it so much that I need my own, hopefully a Moby!
ReplyDeleteI follow you :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how to follow you on twitter, though. Is there a link somewhere?
I'm pregnant with baby #1 so I haven't worn a baby before. Having traveled to Africa several times when younger, I witnessed their practice of wearing babies everywhere and was in awe of the women and their ability to keep doing their tasks with a child of any size strapped to them! I knew this was something I could and would want to do. The Moby sling looks more my style than other baby carriers because of the closeness of the child and the flexibility of uses!
ReplyDeleteOops, my e-mail is cathyscheid at ymail dot com!!
ReplyDeleteMy first experience babywearing was when somebody gave me a native carrier and I hated it. lol. It was not very comfortable and baby didn't feel secure. Even after I went to a workshop to make sure I was using it correctly it still felt weird. I found the moby when my babe was 4 months old and was so upset I hadn't found it sooner!!!! I love it! It is so comfortable and easy to use. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI didnt wear my first but he'll be a toddler when and then I'll have a newborn so I will NEED to!
ReplyDeleteI tried a baby bjorn with my son and I loved having him close, but felt like neither he nor I was comfortable with the bjorn

I wore my firstborn in a Maya wrap, mostly. It was a bright striped number and I loved it, but my husband wouldn't go near it. He prefered the Bjorn, which my son outgrew at about 3 months. My daughter, a 10 lber at birth, was a perfect candidate for the Ergo. I needed to be able to slip it on, get her in and GO, since her brother was 2 when she was born. Now they're 3 & 5, and #3 is on the way!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win a Moby wrap!

After eleven years of infertility, I was determined to spend as much time holding and being near my daughter as possible when she was born. I was given an Infantino sling as a shower gift which was HORRIBLE, so after two months, I found Mamatoto.com and made my own wrap. I wore my daughter until she was six or seven months and started to crawl, and after that I gave away the wraps I had made to other mothers who had seen me wearing, and liked the idea. No I'm expecting miracle baby two, I intend to wear from day one, and I'm in the market. Winning a wrap would certainly help my budget.
ReplyDeleteI haven't used one before, as we are expecting our first. But I saw my OB nurse using a moby wrap while she was "wearing her baby" at work. I thought that was awesome. My La Leche League moms also HIGHLY recommended them. I look forward to giving one a try myself.

ReplyDeleteI had a Chicco carrier for my daughter that I never used. It was awkward and hurt my back and she hated it. I am preggers with #2 and I can't wait to try this! Mommy's always seem so serene with their little ones in Moby Wraps.
ReplyDeleteI had a bjorn with my oldest because that was the way mainstream moms went when they were baby wearing. I found it short lived and pretty uncomfortable. By the time #2 came along, I had progressed up to the Mei Tai and while I found that more comfortable and versatile, I borrowed a friend's Ergo for a vacation and fell in love. For the baby I am currently carrying, I want a Moby for the newborn stage and then progress up to the Ergo.
ReplyDeleteMy first introduction to baby wearing was from my sister in law...she even took me to a consignment shop to purchase my Baby Bjorn.
ReplyDeleteI have found, however, that the Baby Bjorn is not flexible enough for me - I'm short, and it doesn't really allow the baby to cuddle me in a way that is conducive to torso movement!
I would love to use a wrap-style baby carrier for my new baby...my third in three years, whom I will probably have to wear quite a bit! LOL!
Thank you for the entry! :)

The first baby carrier I ever saw was a ring sling, the family I was cleaning for used it ALL THE TIME! I tried ring slings when my ds was born and liked it but didn't really love using it especially for long periods of time. THANKS for this give away.
ReplyDeleteMy first experiences with baby wearing were wearing my nephews in the Bjorn. I loved it then but it obviously wasn't an everyday thing for me. I used a bjorn and a pouch sling with my daughter when she was little but with her being a big girl they quickly grew uncomfortable. We eventually used an Ergo and really liked that.
ReplyDeleteMy first experience with BWing was when my first niece was born. My sister-in-law and her mother used several different styles and I was fascinated. They also introduced me to modern CDing! When DS was born I was given a hand-me-down padded RS but it just isn't that comfortable for long periods of time. I hear a Moby is the best and I'm anxious to try one.
ReplyDeleteMy first sling experience was with an ill-fitting hotsling. My son screamed the whole time he was in it. I found TBW and sold it to fund my first Moby. OMG, LOVE :) I am so sad that I sold it, it was our babywearing gateway drug!
ReplyDeleteI do follow, dont need to subscribe because you are in my favorites. I wore my first child (who is now 8) and I lloved it. and Im pregnant again set to deliver in a couple months. I would love to win this :) make it so much more easier to do things along with caring for the baby. p.s. your children are so sweet
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant I knew I wanted to wear my baby but didn't buy one until I went to a La Leche League meeting and saw one in person. Now I own a pouch, a mei tai, and a ring sling. I have been looking at wraps online and would love to win one!

ReplyDeleteI wore my first daughter first with the dreaded baby bjorn and then with a ring sling. This winter I used a kangroo pouch for my new born and am looking for a new sling for the spring and summer. In NYC babywearing is essential. I would love this MobyWrap.
ReplyDeleteWe bought a sling for our little guy before he was born. My first time outside with him for a walk was in the sling! I loved it and he slept! We tried our friend's Baby Bjorn but it just wasn't our thing. We use the sling but not too often as it is just not super comfy. We have used an Ergo also but they are good for a quick hike or when my guy is asleep, otherwise he doesn't like facing in all the time. I think a Moby Wrap would be that nice cuddly, close to Mama (or Daddy) feeling that he would love. I would love to win this MobyWrap. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeletethank you for the chance to win a moby wrap!! i tried to figure out where i first came cross babywearing, and i know that i was given a used snugli with my firstborn, but something in me knew that wasn't what i wanted, and shortly after i convinced hubby to splurge on a mei tai. we still love it, but it's hard to use in the newborn stage, which is why i'd LOVE to win the moby!!
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm now following your blog. I first heard about babywearing from my Mom. She used to wear my siblings and I in an old-school type Snugli, which I have now inherited. It works well for a back carry, but after a while it really hurts my shoulders. My little girl is a real snuggle bug, so I think she would LOVE the Moby!
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my first, a friend gave me a Baby Bjorn. I like using it, and she even taught me how to nurse in it. I also became interested in getting a ring sling or pouch sling, but then he got too big for me to wear anymore. With my second, I jumped right in to baby wearing from day one. I got a wrap, a mei tai, and I still have that Baby Bjorn, though my husband is the only one who uses it. My cousin just had a baby, and when she was pregnant I came to visit and used the moby with my newborn. She loved it and wants one of her own. If I win this I would love to give it to her!

I saw a lady at church wearing a baby! it was insane! haha, I was like "kangaroo?" but they're cute!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves to be carried although I'm not sure that our carrier is the best. Would love to try this one.

ReplyDeleteMy first was 16 years ago at a LLL meeting. I bought my first ring sling. Been BW and BF ever since!
ReplyDeleteHey, I will try this again. My first carrier was made by some hiking place and had support bars all over it and when you took it off it could turn into a child seat. I hated it! It was so bulky, even when collapsed! Then someone gave us a ring sling one, but it is like size XL do while dh can use it, I can't. I would love the type you are wearing! It even looks more sensible than anything we have ever owned!
ReplyDeleteI also had a back pack with all the bars. I hated it!!!! It was so uncomfortable!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is 7 wks old and loves to be in her wrap. As soon as I put her in there she falls right asleep. I haven't seen anyone else around my way wearing their babies, so I'm always getting looked at.
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting my very first little one in just four weeks, and I would LOVE to try wearing him! I have read so many good things about babywearing on different blogs. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

I first started by using a Bjorn...I quickly moved to a wrap and alternated between that and an Ergo. I still use it to wear my son on my back but he's almost 2 so he's getting HEAVY! I loved wearing my son...we went to the grocery store, the mall, the park...it was so wonderful! I miss that closeness since he's a toddler running around into everything! I'd love to share this experience with my friend who is pregnant with her first and this would be a gift to her

My first baby wearing experience was 5 years ago when my oldest was small. It was a hand-me down snuggli and i used it once or twice before deciding this sucked because the straps were a pain to get her in and out of and it made my back ache. It wasn't until I had my second baby that the world of slings and wraps opened up for me and I've been wearing her ever since.
