Love Being Green

Have you entered to win my pocket diaper giveaway yet?

This week's Small Talk Six is Six Things You Love That Are Green

I am in sort of an environmental mood tonight and the first thing that popped into my head when I read that topic was what things do I do for the environment or to "go green" that I really love. So, here's my list.

1. Cloth Diapers - I really love them. They are cute and they smell WAY better than disposables and they are very green. :)
2. Energy Efficient Lightbulbs - We bought these a few years ago and while they may not be as bright as "regular" lightbulbs once you get used to them you really don't notice. And I love that everytime I use them I am helping the planet. Plus, they save us a lot of money on our electric bill.
3. Walking - I love to walk. Anytime I can walk somewhere - the bank, the post office, etc I do. I don't use the car which is "green" but in truth I do it just because I love it.
4. Recycling - This has become a game to me. Every week my goal is to have more recycling than regular garbage. It is fun.
5. Line Drying - I love hanging my clothes to dry on a line. It saves me money, it is good for the environment and any stains I miss the first time do not set in.
6. No more bilss (in the mail) - I have switched as many bills as I can (or that I trust myself about) from paper bills to online bills. It is really nice not to get bill after bill in the mail each day.

So that is my list. It is not what was intended but it is what I came up with. :) For more green and loveable things head on over for Small Talk Six. And have a great Saturday. I am at Irish Fest - sporting my Irish pride. :)

  1. That is a great list!
When my middle son was small, we would use disposable diapers for long car trips (400 miles). He would cry and ask for his "sweet diapers" which was what he named his cloth ones.

  4. I love line drying clothes, especially sheets and towels because they smell so fresh.

And I've done the same as you with bills. No need to kill a tree when you can just get it emailed to ya. :)

  16. Cool list. I wanted to try cloth diapers so much but hubby wouldn't agree. We compromised and do a combo of regular, 7th generation and gDiapers.
