One year ago
Last year today was when I found out that I was pregnant. Hubby was due to start his job on January second and we were getting new insurance on February 1. So, I just planned to find a new doctor with the new insurance. We had joked about how that was fine as long as I was not pregnant. Now, we did not think I could get pregnant so we were not really looking for any signs of pregnancy. However, after we said it it got me thinking about how I was late. Once a few more days had gone by, on a whim, I bought a pregnancy test and waited to take it in the morning after Hubby had gone to work(He was filling in at the tv station then). When it was positive I was shocked. I was not expecting that. I took another one later in the morning and another that afternoon. I went out and bought another package and took all of them too. They were all positive. I got this crazy idea to buy the What to Expect book and wrap it up and give it to Hubby as a Christmas present. So, I went to the mall I bought the book and wrapped it up. The following day I gave it to him. I could not stand not telling him. I needed him to know. I needed to talk about it with him. To decide what we were going to do (continue with the adoption - we did as you know - postpone the adoption, etc). To plan and prepare. It was killing me trying to keep it from him. So, I pulled him into our family room and handed him the wrapped book and he opened it, took one look at it and said, "I knew it." We were both happy about it and a little surprised, even though he "knew it." And now a year later Baby Sister is getting ready to celebrate her first Christmas. And if you had told me a year ago we would still be in the process of adopting I would have told you you were crazy. But then again if you had told me on December 16, 2007 that I was pregnant I would also have told you you were crazy. So, God sure does surprise me sometimes.
