My Day

Well, Janice over at 5M4M posted about her typical day and how much (or really how little) sleep she gets on a daily basis. She invited everyone reading to respond or post about their typical day. I figured I would give it a try but if you go read Janice's post you will see that my day is a piece of cake in comparison to hers. But regardless this is my day:

6AM - Baby Sister wakes up. If I go grab her and lie down on th couch with her she will go right back to sleep. So, I need to already be dressed when she wakes up. I get up and dressed as quickly as possible and then go get her and change her diaper. We lie down and she sleeps while I text with Hubby who is already at work, try to write my blog post for the day (or sometimes I sleep too).
7AM - Big Brother wakes up. Try to talk to him and be as quiet as possible so Baby Sister can continue to sleep.
8AM - Answer the door as the kids get here. Get coats, hats, etc put away and the children settled.
8:30AM - Have breakfast with Big Brother and Baby Sister.
9AM - Get Big Brother and Baby Sister dressed (yes, I allow them to stay in pajamas until 9. When Big Brother was baby I insisted he be dressed before the kids got here. Then he got older and started to sleep a little bit later and I realized it did not matter if he got dressed after he ate breakfast. Now, he wakes up early again - yes 7 is early for him - but he still likes getting dressed after he eats).
9:15AM - Get breakfast/morning snack ready for all the kids.
9:30AM - Take Baby Sister to her room, feed her and put her down for a nap.
9:50AM - Come downstairs and pump (I have more milk than she drinks and since I want to keep it that way for when Baby gets here I have to squeeze pumping sessions into my day).
10:15AM - Now my kitchen needs to be cleaned up from breakfast and morning snack and whatever dishes Hubby left to "soak" in the sink the night before. Organize the kids into some kind of game.
11AM - Baby Sister is awake. And here is where things get tricky. She wakes up and insists on being picked up, but she is still tired so she quickly falls asleep in my arms. So, I have to carry her while I simultaneously start making lunch for the big kids. If there is time spend it playing with the kids, if not invite those that want to to help make lunch.
11:45AM - Supervise the big kids cleaning up and washing their hands for lunch.
12PM - Get lunch on the table, get cots out for nap, clean up from making lunch, make lunch for myself.
12:30PM - Read a book to the big kids, help Big Brother send an email to Hubby, read Big Brother a book, sing him his "good night song," tuck him in.
1PM - Feed Baby Sister her lunch, eat my lunch.
1:20PM - Put Baby Sister down for her nap (which consists of feeding her and singing to her too).
1:45PM - Pump
2:15PM - This is when I have a little while to read blogs, write my post (if I did not do it in the morning), watch a little tv, etc.
2:45PM - Baby Sister is awake, but much like in the morning she still wants cuddle time. We hang out like that for awhile.
3:15PM - Get Big Brother up from his nap and have some time with him and Baby Sister before the rest of the gang gets up. Unless we decide to go out and play now. Then snack gets put off until 4PM and Hubby gets clean up duty.
3:30PM - Get everyone up, get their hands washed and sitting down for afternoon snack, clean up cots and anything leftover from lunch
4PM - Spend a few minutes with Hubby while one of us starts cooking dinner.
4:30PM - Feed Baby Sister
5PM - Get the big kids to clean up so everything is not a terrible mess when they go home.
6PM - Everyone is gone and we all sit down to dinner.
6:30PM - If we do not have errands to run we get about an hour of just family time. We can play and hang out, read or whatever we want. All too often we have errands to run, grocery shopping, buying something at the mall, etc
7:30PM - Bathtime for Big Brother.
7:50PM - Bathtime for Baby Sister.
8:15PM - Hubby puts Baby Sister to bed, while I put Big Brother to bed. (Yes, I allow my husband to feed her a bottle - I know that other BF moms sometimes do not but Hubby and Baby Sister really enjoy that time together).
8:45PM - Shower and enjoy ten minutes to myself.
9PM - Pump and talk with Hubby, maybe watch a little tv, read some blogs, etc.
9:30PM - Do laundry, straighten up, clean bathroom
11PM - Go to bed (hopefully)
4AM - Hubby gets up to feed Baby Sister and I get up to Pump (I know most of you are thinking that my life would be easier if I would just go feed her myself and not have to pump at that hour, but you are wrong when I go to her in the middle of the night she just cries and cries and will not go back to sleep).
So, that is my day. I suppose I do get about seven or eight hours of sleep. Very broken up and disjointed but still about seven. Not ad I guess. What do you think? How does it compare to yours?
