Today

Well, today is my birthday. I am not expecting anything outrageous to happen. We are still light years (okay months but it feels like light years) away from referral. It will still be several weeks before we know if the baby I am carrying is a boy or a girl. I feel better about the whole process when I see things moving forward, so if a few families could get referrals today that would make me really happy. I am hoping for that as a birthday present.
I know my son and my hubby got me a cake and are hiding it in our basement freezer. Now I did not peek and I did not snoop, my son is just not so good at keeping secrets. He has mentioned it a few times. I pretend like I don't understand and change the subject, so they can "surprise" me. It is fun. I also know he has a wrapped present hidden in a cabinet in our living room. I do not however, know what it is. I love opening presents from my son. He may be only three but he picks out really good presents. Hubby is usually pretty good too. But there is something about my sons sweet little face when he gives a present and the way he talks about picking it out. So sweet.
